But anywhere else besides college campuses, the opposite is true. Kids are forced to say the pledge of allegiance. Police officers refuse to protect people who protest against police brutality. Athletes have been punished for kneeling. Simply wearing a hat that says “America was never great” is met with death threats. If you wear a shirt that says “stomp my flag, I’ll stomp your ass”, it won’t even be seen as political, but if you wear a shirt that says “punch Nazis”, you’ll be labeled as a thug.

Also, if those “other ideas” involve treating certain groups of people as if they’re subhuman, then maybe they don’t deserve to have their ideas tolerated.
