i spent the majority of my teenage years saying terrible things about my appearance on this website since it was a time when i was deep into my depression. i wish i had seen more posts about being kind to yourself and how recovery is a journey that’s definitely possible to reach and focusing more on the positive aspects of life including little things that make you happy
i’m just glad this website shifted to a more uplifting place when it comes to mental illness and promoting self care and healthy coping mechanisms. i remember when therapy and medications weren’t promoted as an option in mental health discussions here. now recovery is encouraged and people aren’t afraid to make corny posts about loving flowers or bread or cows or whatever makes them happy and that’s wonderful. spreading these posts and reminding people of their self worth is always a good idea!
