I don’t want a Black Widow movie.
No-one wants a Black Widow movie, not any more. I mean, whats the fucking point?! Too late Marvel, too late. You missed the boat by a fucking mile. A BW movie would have been great say, 8 years ago.
What we want is more female characters in the MCU. More and better diversity. More and better representation. Give us a gay superhero ffs. Make Clint deaf. Give us Jessica Drew, Jennifer Walters, America Chavez, Miss Marvel, Doreen Green. Give us Teddy & Billy.
Don’t give us a Black Widow movie, we don’t want the same tired old MCU shit. Give us something new.

No, i don’t. But from what i’ve seen since the anouncement, the general consenus seems to be that the time for a BW movie has long since past. And i agree. Marvel are WAY too late. I’d much rather have a different female character have a solo movie, and most people i’ve spoken too feel the same. I mean, whats the point of having a BW now? 5, 8 years ago, for sure but now? Why?
Also, with all the shit with ScarJo these past couple years – let alone the past few months-, there really isn’t a lot of folks who want to keep seeing her in stuff. Just straight dudes who think she’s hot or whatever.
Make the Black Widow movie about SHIELD in the late 1990s / early 2000s. Bring in Maria Hill as a young and upcoming agent, Director Carter still in charge and Nick Fury and Alexander Pierce navigating the turn of the century.
Bring in rookie agent Clint Barton, fresh off the circus and impossible to tame until he’s sent off to Sao Paulo and comes home from a hospital fire deafened, while him and Maria Hill, Melinda May and Jessica Drew figure out how to deal with the Black Widow programme – they’ve got Natasha Romanoff to take care of, yes, but also Yelena and all the other 21 girls from the Bolshoï ballet. Give me him meeting a young Laura Barton or marrying her in secret before being sent off to Budapest to bring in the Black Widows or terminate them.
Bring in Maya Hansen who’s still pissed about being cast away by Tony Stark, and the rise of Hammer Tech and Christine Everhart’s career as a journalist. Tony Stark as a young billionaire before he became a philanthropist? Show him for what he was – an ass in public, but secretly funding and helping the presidential campaigns of the good guys, potentially supporting schools in rough areas that need financial help.
Name the movie the Black Widow movie, but show us Alexei Shostakov and Yelena, as well as the rise of scientist Bruce Banner in the military. Bring me evidence of the search for Captain America and research in the North Pole for the Valkyrie.
If you’re just going to show Scarlett Johansson’s boobs and use the de-aging effect you’ve learnt to use well (cf Ant-Man and the Wasp) on her, Renner and all the others – don’t.
Give me SHIELD at the height of the post-cold War crisis, dealing with whatever happens in the Captain Marvel movie.
