i took a group into one of our rooms, and while i was briefing them, they asked me about one of the doors to the side. since our official policy is to never be direct about whether our doors do or do not lead somewhere else, i went to explain that to them

except instead of giving a normal explanation, like a person and not a walking meme, i told them “it’s a surprise door that might help you later!”

“our official policy is to never be direct about whether our doors do or do not lead somewhere else“

I’ve been reading this post over and over a number of times, trying to figure out what the hell kind of a job OP has where they have a door policy like that.

Like, their blog desc says “ranger” but I think that might mean like a DnD ranger, and not… like a real world park ranger or something…

i almost don’t want to destroy the mystery and leave you in confusion, but just for posterity, i work at an escape room — where secret doors are kind of like, half our thing

said escape room is in a very old and supposedly haunted building though, so every day i come into work i feel like i’m in an episode of scooby-doo
