Song: I Remember The Day I was in Yaffa [Jaffa] – ۣ۰Ù۱ ÙÙÙ Ű§ ÙÙŰȘ ÙÙ ÙۧÙۧ
[Rough Translation]
I remember the day I was in Yaffa, [O please tell us, tell us more about Yaffa] and my sails were in the port of Yaffa. [O the days of fishing in Yaffa] The sea has called upon us in the early morning, and we prepared our sails. [O we could see/imagine it, O how much we now yearn for Yaffa]
On dawn we set off, and we wandered in the sea until we lost sight of the shore. [Was the sea rich of fish?] We were indeed rich of it. From sunrise to sunset, we wandered in the water.
But when the night creeped in, [O that Night!] The viscous winds hit us. [O on that Night!] O it was a rash storm, and the waters reached the skies. [O that storm comes across like cruel bandits!] We lowered our mast, and held tightly to our paddles, We paddled and paddled around, and death was looming above us! We fought the angry waves, and dug our way through the sea, And our hands would pull hard and harder, and our boat would pull and pull through.
But at one point, we said we are lost, We are doomed, in this cold hell.
But as the morning and its winds returned, We returned with the wind. And we entered Yaffaâs port [O how great it is to be back in Yaffa] And we beautified the shore with seashells, [O the sweetest days are in Yaffa]
Though the winds were striking and wailing at us, We yelled âO We will return to Yaffa!â [And today, though the winds are striking and wailing at us, and we yell that We will return to Yaffa.]Â
And We will return! We will return to Yaffa! [And We will return! We will return to Yaffa!]
And We will return! We will return to Yaffa! [And We will return! We will return to Yaffa!]Â
Letâs say itâs 6.15pm and youâre going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. Youâre really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you donât know if youâll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!!
NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONEâŠ
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can perhaps buy precious time to get themselves to a phone and dial 911.
Rather than sharing another joke please contribute by broadcasting this which can save a personâs life!
the wildest thing happened to me the other day i found out a male coworker is into irish music so i told him that my dad is an irish musician and would he like to come to a session and he straight up irl said to me âname 5 irish songs your dad knowsâ
he asked me if i play and i told him i played the fiddle when i was a teenager but havent played in years and he was like âoh cool. i play drumsâ as in a drum kit you know the famously folkish instrument the drum kit. bitch my name is molly o’reilly you really wanna challenge the legitimacy of my irish music involvement

Gay-friendly companies include:
StarbucksÂ
Wal-mart
Google
General Mills cereal
American Express
Mariott Hotels
SO REMEMBER. Get some Starbucks coffee, go on Google to shop at Wal-mart.com with your American Express card while eating a bowl of General Mills cereal and enjoy your stay at our fine Mariott Hotels.
Also shop at target, they dropped ties with transphobic and homophobic companies and are one of the most inclusive employers in the country
Just to clarifyâŠGirl Scouts is completely separate from Boy Scouts. Girl Scouts is very gay & trans friendly and is overall a great organization that empowers little girls and promotes community involvement and kindness so go out and buy as many girls scout cookies as you can
How are we defning gay-friendly companies here? Are they friendly to gay people trying to make a living wage or do they pay their workers below the $15hr that labor groups are advocating for? Do they actually have protections for LGBT+ employees or have they just done a pro-gay ad?Â
Itâs important to look at these things with a critical eye, to see whether companies are actually willing to back up a progressive stance or whether theyâre just interested in marketing to a progressive demographic. I mean, us queers have money to spend too.
Also, Iâm deeply uncomfortable with that last line telling you to what to buy as if consuming all those products constitutes some kind of political action. Even if those companies are great (which I doubt, especially in the case of Wal-Mart), making consumer choices isnât actually activism, and anyone who says otherwise is trying to sell you something.
hot take: âchivalryâ is fine as long as itâs adapted to 21st century values. if you are a male, you SHOULD be aware that your female friends face certain issues that you as a male dont. acting on that awareness in a way that keeps your female friends safe, isnât a bad thing.
like⊠opening doors isnât rly chivalrous when itâs just a thing you ought to do for everyone. but real 21st century chivalry might be, like, standing between your female friend and the guy thatâs trying to get her drunk, or offering to walk her home when itâs late.
if the âchivalryâ inconveniences everyone involved and youâre just doing it for your over-inflated male ego â ie, âno youâre the girl here, you HAVE to let me hold this door for you and do all these things for you even when you can do it yourself and im just slowing you downâ â then itâs just outdated misogyny.
Having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome sometimes feels about the equivalent of being composed of jello and wet spaghetti. Nothing stays where its supposed to. Literally every single cell in the body is floppy, so fingers are definitely an issue for many of us. I can almost guarantee that for the majority of us, writing is not only slow and painful but nearly impossible at times. FIne motor skills? What even are those? An EDSer surely doesnât have any of those. Even typing which is far easier than writing, is painful and daunting at times. But last year I joined the population of shiny zebras by getting fitted for a set of Silver Rings Splints and they are beyond magical.
For those of you who have not heard of The Silver Ring Splint Company, they are a company that custom makes finger splints that look like elegant pieces of jewelry. Donât believe me? Well I canât even tell you how many compliments Iâve received for them. Nobody even suspects that they might possibly be medical. But more importantly, they work amazing! I still have hand pain and finger dislocations when performing fine motor skills and writing is definitely not something I look forward to but I have saved myself thousands of painful dislocations, I can open doors easier, type faster, write longer and hold objects in my hands without looking like an alien from a sic-fi movie. With the rings on my fingers actually look like fingers rather than tentacles!
The company is also family owned and the people are so sweet and helpful!
If you are having trouble with hand pain, clumsiness and dislocations please check out this amazing company!
Iâm literally crying right now. I will be able to use my hands!!! As it stands I canât do dishes, hold things, write, hold books, type, without pain or dislocation. Oh my gosh. This is a miracle.
@peaceypanic
those are gorgeous and that is amazing how well theyâre working! signal boost!
I love these things. I use one for my thumb because due to arthritis I have very little strength/support in the joint and therefore often canât do anything. My splint makes it possible for me to do my job, do the shit i need to do and not have as bad of pain.Â
these are so cool
omg the first ehlers danlos post Iâve seen, this makes me happy!
We love Siris Ring Splints (silverringsplints.com)! Â But we know not everyone has the same price points or style so we have a whole page of splints (and braces too) oer on PrettySick Supply so you can shop your own style and cost! Â And a lot of the folks weâve found are others with EDS and hypermobility issues who support themselves by selling the splints they make!
