While going through his famous grandfather’s belongings after his passing in 1937, violinist Lars Sigerson discovered this casket. It appears to have been passed from generation to generation within his family for hundreds of years. The explanation and whatever story that goes with it has been lost to the ages.
The inscription on the casket is written in old Norse runes and reads: “Behold! Within this casket lies the heart of the fierce and terrible giant known as Hrungnir, slain this day by Fafrd the Red whose bravery and cunning shall live forever!”
UPDATE ON SUNNY (aka Big Boss: Cat Edition, Nick Furry):
Hey guys. So news. Today Sunny went to the vet to get his pre-op exam, and we have learned a couple things:
1) Sunny has a slight heart murmur. Now the veterinarian not sure whether it was because he was in an unfamiliar environment and that was just a cause from the stress of it, or if it is a consistant thing that he has been dealing with that we just have been unaware of so far, as it does happen in older cats (and Sunny is 12 years old). But, this will more than likely effect how they proceed with the surgery when he gets it.
2) The eye is causing him pain, which we pretty much already knew, but the veterinarian gave definite confirmation and it may be causing swelling that is pushing inside of his skull against his brain, from how they explained it to me.
Which brings me to
3) As you can see from above, the surgery is finally estimated to be either $845.90 or $913.90, and this price is completely dependent on what kind of mediation he will need post op. Then the cost of him getting bloodwork and vaccinations today was $362.99, which came out of the fund we already had for Sunny (again, thank you all who donated).
Which means we are once again a bit short. I hate to have to come and ask again, but if anyone can help by donating so that Sunny can get the eye removed. I hate that my cat is currently living in any kind of pain or discomfort, and just want this for his well-being. So please, if anyone can, I would greatly appreciate it.
