Like, I could come up with a bunch of examples of Thor being hella smart, but let’s go with the most obvious one in this movie.
Thor specifically told the Guardians NOT to go to Knowhere. He told them they wouldn’t be able to stop Thanos from getting the Reality Stone anyway, and knew 100% that he needed to be more powerful to face him.
Not only was he right in the sense that, with Stormbreaker, he came super close to defeating Thanos with all 6 Stones, but also, if the Guardians had all gone with him to Nidavellir instead, Thanos wouldn’t have captured Gamora, he wouldn’t have found the Soul Stone, and he would’ve had to face the Avengers AND the Guardians on earth with one less Stone.
Moral of the story: Thor is INCREDIBLY smart and 100% knows what he’s doing, and people need to start paying attention to him more.
Sometimes I’m just sitting here minding my own business and then I remember that Thor specifically entrusted Loki with placing Surtur’s crown on the fire to initiate Ragnarok and I tear up a little bit because that’s how you love and support your chaotic neutral sibling.
Thor: I know what’ll cheer you up. 🙂 Loki: What’s that? Thor: You wanna trigger the apocalypse with me for the good of Asgard? Loki: !!!!!!!!
my favorite part is that nobody questioned Loki surviving that experience. Thor sent him in there with the comfortable confidence of Loki’s cockroach-like ability to cause the apocalypse and sneak out before it got bad, Loki didn’t try to pretend that this was dangerous, absolutely nobody ever commented…
tom holland just posted a video on instagram like “I’m sorry that there’s no new news on the spiderman sequel but I just got the script I’m about to read it!!” and he held up the script and it said “spider-man: far from home” so yeah he just spoiled the spider-man sequel title while announcing he had no news on the spider-man sequel,, good job tom
