for a quick change of pace–i know we’ve all seen a thousand posts about voting, but what i haven’t seen (not yet) is one saying thank you.
thank you for those who made it out in the rain and the cold, who organized and canvassed and took on the onerous task of working with non-voting & conservative friends/family to change their stance if at least just this once. thank you for those who stood in line for hours, who had to travel because your voting place was moved, who had to jump through ridiculous fucking hoops to register, who weren’t inspired but showed up anyway for the disenfranchised and the greater good. thank you as well to everyone who voted early, absentee, and provisional.
it mattered.

35. what does home mean to you?
you know that phrase “home is where the heart is”? that. its cliche, but i think it’s true. home is where the heart is. home is where you can 100% let your barriers down and just be you.
I don’t even live in Texas but honestly we need politicians like Beto
What’s so great about Beto?
- Doesn’t take any PAC money or big donor money period. Left or right. Won’t be beholden to big money interests.
- Already pledged to support Bernie’s Medicare for All bill should he win
- Legalization of Marijuana, expunging records of nonviolent drug offenders.
- He wouldn’t have voted for Kavanaugh, and he would have voted for the Violence Against Women reauthorization.
- Expanding of LGBTQ rights.
- Public works projects like extending broadband access to rural areas and funding for the rail project between Dallas-SA-Austin-Houston.
- Bringing back and protecting the voting rights act.
- Increasing money for the VA.
- Finding healthy solutions to immigration and the boarder, just like his home town El Paso a boarder town that’s one of the safest cities in the country
- Prison reform, ending for profit prisons.
Dude native Americans did not live in peace before the Europeans showed up. The tribes were constantly warring. The reason a bunch of tribes teamed up with the Europeans is to wipe out other enemy tribes. Don’t paint the native Americans as living in a utopian society before the “white man” showed up. It’s just not true.
you’re totally right. I deleted the post. the intention is there, but it does paint native americans in that light.
